The Knicks surely feared the beard as Rockets superstar James Harden had a career night at the Garden, with 61 points shooting 17-for-38 from the field, 22-for-25 from the free throw line, and 5-for-20 from three-point range. In addition, Harden had 15 rebounds and four assists in the Rockets win. Harden’s Wednesday night total tied Kobe Bryant’s single-game regular season record for most points scored by a visiting player at Madison Square Garden. However, Carmelo Anthony still owns the record for most points at the Garden after scoring 62 points against the Charlotte Bobcats  (now Charlotte Hornets). Don’t expect this to be the last we hear of Harden, as he has been averaging over 52.2 point per game over his last 5 games and 35.7 points per game for the season.
