Astros Top Dodgers to Win Their First Ever World Series

It took all 7 games to determine the winner of the 113th edition of the World Series.

The Houston Astros defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers, four games to three, to win their first World Series in franchise history. The Astros were also the first MLB based out of Texas to win a World Series. Both teams set a World Series record with a combined total of 25 home runs throughout the entire series, including a team record 15 home runs by the Astros. In Game 2, the combined total of eight home runs hit set the single game World Series mark. Astros outfielder George Springer was named the MVP of the World Series after hitting a grand total of five home runs in the series to tie a World Series record with Chase Utley in 2009 and Reggie Jackson in 1977.

The Astros defeated the Yankees in the 2017 American League Championship Series, while the Dodgers defeated the Cubs in the 2017 National League Championship Series to get to the World Series.
