On Wednesday, March 20, Manhasset High School will be holding its annual Pops Concert to showcase its various music performing groups. Although the concert has been moved earlier in the school year compared to past years, we are still expecting a lively night filled with alumni, families, and friends. Like every year, the band, orchestra, choirs, and drum line will be performing their music that they have been diligently rehearsing since the beginning of the year. But besides the change in the date of the concert, there is another big adjustment to the scheduling. This year will mark the first year that Manhasset’s high school jazz band performs at Pops.
Each year, the jazz groups only play at the SCA fair and the Empire Room performance in June. After working with Arts Administrator Dr. Ambrogio and band instructor Mr. Knudsen, the jazz band members were able to push for an extra performance to showcase their talents. The group has been practicing various pieces since the fall, and they are very excited to be given this opportunity.
Once again, the concert will be on Wednesday, March 20. It will be held in the gym at 8:00 PM and admission will be sold at the door for $10. We hope to see you all there!
